BANK PRIVACY STATEMENT Bank of Blue Valley understands that our customers expect their personal information to be treated in an appropriate and confidential manner. We recognize the reasonable expectation of privacy by all of our customers and the importance of protecting that privacy. The following principles are the foundation upon which our policy is built.
Respecting our Customer's Privacy: Our customers expect us to collect and use customer information in a manner that is appropriate to their financial needs. In recognizing that expectation, the bank's Code of Conduct details the bank's confidentiality expectations of its employees. While we also respect the privacy expectations of our employees, this policy is designed to protect the customers of the bank. All Human Resource policies will be handled through that department in a separate publication.
Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information: The Bank will collect, retain and use information about individual customers only which is useful and necessary for us to operate our business and to provide products, services and other opportunities to our customers. Our staff members will only access customer information when necessary to provide customers with a product or service and we won't sell individual customer information to an unaffiliated third party for marketing purposes.
Sharing Information With Companies That Work For Us: To assist us in offering our customers services, we may occasionally share information with companies that work for us, such as check-printing, check imaging, and data processing companies. These companies act on our behalf and are obligated to keep the information confidential.
Sharing Information with Our Affiliates: We do not share information about our customers with our affiliates.
Sharing Information with Nonaffiliated Third Parties: From time to time Bank of Blue Valley may share information about our customers with nonaffiliated third parties for the purpose of providing them with information about additional financial products or services we feel may be of interest to them; however, the customer will be provided with an “Opt-Out” provision that will allow them to keep their name and personal information from being shared with these third parties.
Joint Marketing With Other Financial Companies: From time to time Bank of Blue Valley may enter into a Joint Marketing Agreement with other Financial Companies in order to jointly market products or services we feel may assist you with your financial needs.
Maintenance of Accurate Information: The bank has procedures to ensure that each customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete. We will also correct any inaccurate information in a timely manner upon proper notification. If a customer finds that any of their account information is incomplete, inaccurate, or not current, they are instructed to notify us using the contact information printed on their account statement.
Limiting Employee Access to Information: Only those employees with an acceptable business reason are authorized to access personally identifiable customer information. As part of the Bank's Code of Conduct, we identify for each new employee, and annually for all employees, the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. The Bank will take appropriate disciplinary action as detailed in the Code of Conduct as needed to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures: The bank has implemented appropriate security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information. To protect customer privacy, employees are not authorized to release a customer's personal information without following federal regulations and Bank guidelines. The Vice President, Compliance Officer is responsible for the proper handling of privacy related issues between Bank of Blue Valley and our customers, managing and investigating any questions and/or complaints on privacy issues, managing opt-out procedures, maintaining procedures for customers to correct inaccurate data, records storage and accessibility and protection against destruction of paper documented customer information. The Security Officer of the bank is responsible for physical security as detailed in our Security Policy. The Technology Security Officer of the bank is responsible for determining access rights to customer information and electronic information security as detailed in the Technology Policy.
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information: When customers provide us with information, we will protect and secure it. We will share information as required by applicable laws and regulations and to protect against fraud. We will also exchange information with credit bureaus.
Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties: If personally identifiable information is provided to a third party (except as required by subpoena or in a court of law), we will require that they agree in writing to protect your privacy by following the same standards we follow.
